HISTORICAL INSPIRATION

The Persian Twilight Earrings are inspired by the colours and atmosphere of the Persian landscape as daylight fades. Across the Iranian plateau, gardens, stone architecture and distant mountains take on deeper tones as evening approaches. Greens become darker, gold lingers in the last light and the sky shifts towards violet before night fully arrives. Shinar translates this moment into jewellery through emerald-toned crystal, deep violet crystal and polished golden hematite. The earrings are not based on a single archaeological object. Instead, they draw upon place, colour and atmosphere — a contemporary interpretation of the transition between garden, landscape and sky.

When Day Becomes Night

Across the Persian landscape, twilight arrives slowly.

The warmth of the day begins to fade from the stone, gardens fall into shadow and the colours of the landscape deepen.

Green becomes darker beneath the approaching evening. Gold lingers in the last light. Above it all, the sky begins to change from blue to violet.

Places such as Persepolis have stood beneath this same transition for more than two thousand years.

The architecture may have changed and ancient gardens disappeared, but evening still arrives across the Iranian plateau in much the same way — light falling away, colours deepening and the first stars appearing overhead.

The Persian Twilight Earrings capture that brief moment.

Faceted green crystals reflect the colours of the landscape, while a larger violet drop represents the sky as evening gathers. Between them, golden hematite catches the light like the final warmth of sunset.
