WORN IN THE
SPOTLIGHT

Where ancient inspiration meets the modern stage.

Music has always carried stories across cultures, generations and time. At Shinar, we have had the privilege of working with remarkable musicians and performers to create jewellery inspired by the histories, places and traditions that matter to them — pieces designed not simply to be worn, but to become part of their story.

THE AYOUB
SISTERS

Award-winning Scottish-Egyptian instrumentalists and composers bringing cultures together through music.

Sarah and Laura Ayoub have built an extraordinary international career through musicianship, creativity and a distinctive ability to bring musical worlds together.

Their acclaimed album Arabesque is a celebration of music from the Arab world, drawing deeply on their Egyptian heritage while reimagining it through their contemporary classical style. The album reached No.1 on the iTunes chart and entered the Top 10 of the Official Classical Albums Chart.

Their career has also included performances for royalty, presidents and international leaders. In 2023, The Ayoub Sisters were invited to perform at the historic National Service of Thanksgiving and Dedication at St Giles’ Cathedral in Edinburgh, where King Charles III was presented with the Honours of Scotland following his Coronation. Their international appearances have also included COP27 in Sharm El-Sheikh, reflecting the extraordinary reach of their music and the dedication behind their career.

SHINAR × BRITISH MUSIC

MADE FOR
THE HOOSIERS

Bespoke design, made for a different kind of stage.

Best known for their distinctive British indie-pop sound and hits including Worried About Ray and Goodbye Mr A, The Hoosiers became one of the most recognisable British bands of their generation.

Shinar had the opportunity to create something especially for the band: a bespoke ring featuring The Hoosiers’ distinctive logo, alongside a custom guitar pick created for their comedy show.

While history is at the heart of Shinar, our design work isn’t confined to the ancient world. The Hoosiers’ ring was an opportunity to create something entirely contemporary — translating the band’s identity into a bespoke piece made especially for them.
