The Mosaic Tile Carnelian Necklace takes its inspiration from one of those individual pieces.

Its square of rich red ceramic enamel recalls a single coloured tessera — one fragment that might once have belonged to a much larger composition. Beneath it hangs a natural carnelian bead, its translucent red-orange colour introducing a gemstone material prized across the ancient world.

Together, the geometric tile and natural stone create a contemporary interpretation of Roman colour and ornament.
