The **Pearl Column Roman Earrings** are inspired by an extraordinary Fayum mummy portrait from Roman Egypt, dating to approximately **AD 100**. Known as the *Mummy Portrait of a Woman* and attributed to the Isidora Master, the painting depicts a wealthy woman adorned with a golden wreath, elaborate necklaces and a particularly remarkable pair of gold and pearl earrings. Each earring consists of a single upper pearl supporting a horizontal gold bar, from which four slender gold pendants descend, each terminating in a pearl. This unusual arrangement is faithfully echoed in Shinar's contemporary design. Preserved in the collection of the J.
