HISTORICAL INSPIRATION

The Persian Nightfall Earrings are inspired not by a single archaeological object, but by the colours and atmosphere of the landscape of ancient Persia after sunset. Across the Iranian plateau, monumental sites such as Persepolis would have stood beneath the same expansive night sky that stretches above the landscape today. As daylight fades, warm stone and earth give way to deeper violet and blue tones, while the first points of light appear overhead. Shinar translates that transition into jewellery through deep purple crystal and polished golden hematite — violet for the approaching night and gold for the final traces of light. The result is a contemporary jewel rooted in place, atmosphere and the enduring beauty of the Persian sky.

As evening falls across the Persian landscape, colour slowly disappears from the earth and gathers in the sky.

The warm stone of the day darkens. The horizon turns violet, then indigo, and the first stars begin to appear above the mountains and plains.

It is a landscape that has changed across thousands of years, yet the night above it remains familiar.

Ancient cities, palaces and roads once stood beneath these same vast skies. At places such as Persepolis, generations looked upwards at a night unsoftened by modern light — brilliant with stars and stretching uninterrupted across the Iranian plateau.

The Persian Nightfall Earrings capture that transition from evening into darkness.
